A Mathematical continuum can be an infinite multidimensional numerical continuum. It can be a discrete continuum like a continuum of the natural numbers. Or it can be a real number continuum where every possible point in the space has a real number assigned to it. The concept of mathematical continuums is very important for science and is used all the time by scientists. The concept of a mathematical continuum is the basis for analytical geometry, which is the basis for calculus. Calculus being the fundamental advanced mathematics of science.
