An awful awarepath is a consciousness existing over time like the life time of a body of a human or other conscious being that is not only unpleasant but so bad it is unbearable. It can contain severe pain and suffering to the extent that the person wishes he was dead, even if he believed that the pain was going to be short lived. From the view point of an outside observer they may see no redeeming value at all to this type of conscious experience.
