Examples of Futuristic Immortality
What you are consciously experiencing, at any current moment in time, can be duplicated in the same body or in a different body in the future by duplicating closely enough the structure and functioning of your current body. Since consciousness is produce by the brain it would only be necessary to duplicate the brain's structure and functioning. Futuristic Immortality is a type of superimmortality.
Lets say right now you are having a great family reunion. You are surrounded by your loved ones. You are happy but think this will eventually never be able to happen again because your body, your friends and loved ones bodies will eventually die. This is true. Human bodies do not last very long with in the times scales of the universe. The structure and functioning of a body is a property of a body it is not the body itself. The structure and functioning of a body or more importantly the brain itself can be duplicated or more importantly approximated. If the structure and functioning of your current brain is closely enough approximated, that occurred for example during the family reunion, it will produce the exact same consciousness that occurred during the family reunion. and it will produce the same ixperiencitness as well. Which means that you will again experience this family reunion. Lets say however. that the structure and functioning that is produces in this other future existing body's brain is more divergent. In this case you experience more relatives and friends. There are at least two different ways your brain can process this difference. The first way is with varying degrees of memories of these new relatives and friends. The second way is with no memories of these people at all. We can imagine all sorts of variations to these possible conscious experiences. There experiences will be based on the way the brain is structured and then functions. You might say that this is not a fair comparison with the original experience of the family reunion because the original people are not actually there. What matters is if you think that they are there or not. You do not know if these people were actually there at the original family reunion, you just assumed that they were. You will think that this is the first reunion not a duplicate reunion unless the structure and functioning is different enough to produce the feeling or beliefs that this is a duplication of the original reunion. You may even come to believe that the original reunion was not what you though it was as the structure and functioning of your brain changes toward suspicious thoughts.
