Citophysicontinuance Citoawarecontinuance Citophysiextension Citoawareextension Citophysicontinuity Citoawarecontinuity Citophysidiscontinuity Citoawarediscontinuity
Continuous life
Physicontinuance deals with the uninterrupted physical continuance of the body. Example: continously physically alive
Awarecontinuance deals with the uninterrupted continuance of consciousness produced by a body. How it effects the consciousness and ixperiencit produced? Example: continously consciousness no period where you were not concious due to death
Life after death or deaths
Physiextension deals with the interrupted physical continuance of the body. Example: one or more periods of physical death of the body for different length of time. Identical continuance of body functioning
Awarextension deals with the interrupted continuance of consciousness produced by a body. Example: one or more periods of mental death where no consciousness is produced for differeing periods of time. Identical continuance of mentality consciousness.
Sameness or smooth change in physical and mentals aspects of a person
Physicontinuity deals with the continuity of the body (structure and functioning) itself. Degree/ amount of change in the body over time. Example: How much change there is in the body from one time to the next for structure and functioning.
Awarecontinuity deals with the continuity of consciousness itself. Degree/ amount of change in consciousness over time. Example: How much change there is in consciousness from one time to the next for memories, knowledge of past events, skills etc.
Abrupt change in physical and mental aspects of a person
Physidiscontinuity Deals with how periods of physical discontinuity (death) of the body itself. Degree/ amount of change in the body over time. Example: periods of death with degrees of differences in the way the body is different like in functioning
Awarediscontinuity Deals with periods of conscious discontinuity. Degree/ amount of change in the body over time. Example: One or more periods of death with degrees of differences in consciousness afterwrd
These eight topics are the basis for all theories of personal identity, life after death, immortality, and conscious existence. We could also apply the concept of a soul to these basic ideas of continuance, extension, continuity, and discontinuity But since there is no way to do experiments with souls, we know nothing about them but through a wide variety of different speculations.
Experiment: If some one dies for a short amount of time and has no memory of this intervening time does this mean that the identity theory MMT is not true? Does it mean that immortality or life after death does not exist? Does experiencing wondrous things mean that there is a life after death even if it is a long memory and that you could not possibly have a functioning brain for that long A memory is just a consequence of the structure and functioning of the brain. Any memory could pop up if there were the right type of changes to the brain that causes the brain to produce this memory. Either case does not tell you about life after death. It only shows you types of consciousness that you can experience.
Oriphysicontinuance
Discussion:
Question(s): If an original continues to exist with the same body forever will it always have the same ixperiencit -- be a case of conscious existence for the original? Is there a limit to how long one continuous physipath can be? Will one continuous physipath no matter how long produce the same ixperiencit?
Definition: Oriphysicontinuance is the term for the concept that deals with how the uninterrupted physical continuance of the body effects the consciousness and ixperiencit of the original.
Experiment set Oriphysicontinuance: There are two basic experiments here First, the change in the body where it very slowly changes toward another person until it eventually has the structure and functioning of another very different person.
Prediction(s))/Difference in theories: In the first experiment the a continuous body changes into producing a different consciousness and ixperiencit. In the second experiment if all possible version of consciousness have been produced it can repeat as many times as desired
Proof(s)/supporting evidence: If the structure and functioning of the body changes enough there will be a change in the ixperiencit. In the first experiment there is enough change in the bodies structure to change the ixperiencit. In the second experiment there is not. The changes can be externally caused by purpose or randomly.
Principle of Oriphysicontinuance: Physical continuance of one body in it self does not guarantee life after death or immortality.
Type of immortality, TCE, DMF /Difference in theories: SST, CST, NST, SMT, MMT: SST: CST: NST: It all depends on how the soul behaves in relation to this body. Does it leave the body? SMT: The view would be that if it is the same body and the changes that occur to it is slow enough it is the same person. For some versions of SMT this is the only way possible to achive immortality. Oriphysicontinuance it the only way for the continuation of conscious existence for the original.
MMT: Oriphysicontinuance it not the only way for the continuation of conscious existence for the original. There are many ways where this will not always be a case of the continuation of conscious existence for the original
CAM/VT analogy Oriphysicontinuance: We can imagine the movie my life that is so long where the main character changes so little over time that you do not remember it has turned into a totally different person.
Subjective (uxperiencit) example:
Why/how Important?: If an original continues to exist with the same body forever will it always have the same ixperiencit or be a case of conscious existence for the original?
Citophysicontinuance
Discussion:
Question(s): If an cidentireplica continues to exist with the same body forever will it always have the same ixperiencit or be a case of conscious existence for the original?
Definition: Citophysicontinuance is the term for the concept that deals with how the uninterrupted physical continuance of the body effects the consciousness and ixperiencit of cidentireplicas.
Experiment set Citophysicontinuance:
Prediction(s))/Difference in theories: SST: CST: NST: SMT: If any of these theories allowed a cidentireplica’s ixperiencit to transform into an original’s ixperiencit, it would make these theories at least partially multiple rather than singular.
Proof(s)/supporting evidence:
Principle of Citophysicontinuance:
Type of immortality, TCE, DMF /Difference in theories: SST, CST, NST, SMT, MMT:
SST: CST: NST: SMT: Cidentireplicas are never a case of survival for the original for this theory because it would make it a MMT.
MMT:
CAM/VT analogy Citophysicontinuance: We can imagine a movie where the hero’s looks, behavior, knowledge of the past event, etc., very slowly change into a different movie star.
Subjective (ixperiencit) example:
Why/how Important?: If the original has a short life the cidentireplica could lead out this life and produce the same awarepath and ixpereincit as the original would have. There is no necessary end to the length of the life of the cidentireplica. So it can be immortal which is just as good for the original as if the original was immortal.
