Complex materialism

From Aware Theory
When we base what we on the complexity of the structure and functioning of matter the "I" becomes the "we"
Complex materialism bases consciousness and ixperiencitness on the complex functioning of matter not on a specific body. The structure and functioning of matter can be duplicated and or approximated. As a consequence so can consciousness and ixperiencitness.

The death of the body is not the death of the self! Any body with the right structure and functioning can produce a specific ixperiencitness. There is enough difference in the ways matter can be structured and then function that not all structures and functionings produce the same ixperiencitness. This means that not all conscious beings are versions of each other.

We only see an instance of what we are because the structure and functioning of our brains keeps changing from one moment to the next. However, the structure and functiong stays enough the same over time that our consciousness stays somewhat alike from moment to moment. Every moment is duplicatable at least in theory and is approximateable in fact.

The "I" in "I am" is imaginary like it is in mathematics!

Simple Materialism is defined as the simple idea that you are your body. For everyone besides you this is true -- everyone see you as a body. We also have a tendency to see ourselves as a body as well. But what we really are to ourselves is a consciousness. I can imagine may self in any number of different bodies or not having a body at all, but I cannot imagine myself without being conscious. Being conscious is necessary for my conscious existence. The question is what makes me conscious? Is it a specific body? Under what conditions will this body keep producing my consciousness? It is possible that what is producing my consciousness is not this body that I experience. It maybe that the sensepath that I am experiencing does not show my real body.
