The memory/ experience argument for singularity is used to disallow replicas from being the original because they do not have the actual memories from actual experience of the original. There are at least three points that can be made first and the most important is that there is the assumption that personal identity is the necessary concept for life after death issues. Actually it is the ixperiencit concept --- when ever you experience something it is a case of your existence. Even if there is personal identity if you do not experience this life it is not you for yourself. Consequently, it does not matter if there is personal identity or not in this sense. It does not matter if the memories are not based on actual experiences of your particular body. The second and less important point is that most memories are not based on real experiences. First because the brain can not store that much information accurately Second because the brain changes and simplifies the memories consequently, they are not accurate. So the original has false and inaccurate memories so does this disqualify him from personal identity with the previous original also. Third, a duplicate does not have the actual experiences that the memories are based on so he is disqualified from being the original but what about a duplicate of a duplicate, neither have any connection to the original experiences that produced the memories of the original so the argument does not apply to duplicates of duplicates. So there is no problem with duplicates of duplicates they both have all false memories. There is also the situation where the duplicate has had all the same actual experiences and memories. But does not make them both originals. Are two originals the same person? No. But just because two people are not the same person does not mean that they can not have the same ixperiencit.
Or the case where
Personal identity is more for legal matters than for experiencing life after death. This is where the confusion comes from the concept of personal identity can not be used to decide if you are experiencing being conscious or not with any certainty.
If on a completely identical parallel universe hitler is caught and kept alive right before he commits suicide should he be punished for what his duplicate did, in this universe? In the case of multiplicity the identireplica has the exact same ixperiencit.
Personal identity versus ixperiencit identity
You want ixperiencit identity.
Personal identity does not guarantee ixperiencit identity.
You have to have at least approximate ixperiencit identity for you to have life after death.
From the perspective of other conscious beings ixperiencit identity is not necessary what is necessary if only the belief that you are the same person. You may look different and have different memories and personality but if someone believes you are the same person that is all that is required.
