Mutual use convergence experiments

From Aware Theory

Mutual use convergence experiments deal with the gradual union of two or more identical physapaths into one physapath through the musprocess.

In this first experiment we will start with two identical synchronous physapaths producing identical synchronous awarepaths. Because of the definition of identical and synchronous every pat of the each physapath will be functioning identically at the same time. The first step in this experiment is that we mutually use one neuron. this means that this one neuron is still functioning the same but the end result of the processing is shared by both physapaths. For this to happen a change in structure has to happen. The signals from the neuron has to be split up. There are different ways of doing this but we will take this neuron out of both physapaths and replace it with one of the two. That is now placed in the middle between the two physipaths. This neuron can have exactly the same structure and at the ends diverge to the corresponding synapse connections in the two separate brains. Or the neuron can be modified so that it will produce the same signal to each separate brain for the duration of the experiment.

We can now do the same process with another neuron and repeat this process over and over as long as we wish or until the two brain become one. We do not have to limit ourselves to doing one neuron at a time we can do this process to any size chunk of the brain. We can also do the process so that there is a continuous consciousness being produced. it might be easier doing this process with isoidentireplicas and fidentireplicas. but the concept being used is the same.

What are the consequences of the experiment? if you believe in singularity in consciousness then you believe that in the first expereiment we have to different people with two different personal identities. this is what a itomultiplicity theorists will also believe also. Where they diverge in in the ixperiencitness of the two. itomultiplicity theorist will say that they will have the same ixperiencitness and the singularity theorist will say that they have different ixperiencitness.
