Originalness

From Aware Theory

Originalness is something that the original has that nothing else can ever have. The question posed is originalness important for conscious survival through time, life after death, and immortality? Many people think so. Most physical things do not need originalness to function in the desired ways. If we consider a painting, frequently its value is based on if it were the original or not. But if identical enough to the original it could be considered the original and serve all the functions of the original. If no one know that the painting that is thought to be the original was not the original painting it would serve the same function as the original. On the other hand an original painting can be considered a non original where a very good replica can be believed to be the original. Originalness is a property that conscious being place on objects. Sometimes with good reasons and knowledge that make the original pronouncement true and sometimes not.

Originalness is however a slippery slop because originalness can be a matter of degree. If a painting has been repaired with new paint it can be said to be percentage wise identical to the original. If all that matters is the object traveling through space and time, even if it gains and looses matter, it is often still called the original. A human is gaining matter all the time through what it eats, drink, breaths etc., It is also loosing matter in obvious ways as well. If a person lives long enough he is not made of the same matter at the end of this life as he was at the beginning. Is he still the original? Does he still produce the same ixperiencitness as he did earlier in his life?

Awaretheory predicts that originalness is not necessary for a conscious being to have the same ixperiencitness. This means simply that other conscious beings can produce a consciousness that you will, are, or did experience. For this to be true, it means that you are more than what you are at this moment in time. You are more than the awaremoment you are experiencing now. You already believe this because you believe that you have experienced consciousnesses different than you are at this present time and you believe that you likely will live long enough to experience different conscious moments in the future as well. A life time of conscious experiences is called an awarepath by awaretheory. Awaretheory predicts that we are or can be more than a single awarepath no matter how long the awarepath is. Awaretheory predicts that we are more like an awarevenue in reality and a awarecontinuum in possibility or potentiality.

The concept of originalness can be applied to specific properties, such as the original matter, the original space or time, the original body, or the original soul or spirit. Awaretheory predicts that the type of originalness that is important for conscious existence is the originalness of the structure and functioning of matter. Where the concepts of the originalness of matter, body, space, time, or soul are singular in nature the structure and functioning of matter is not. This means that many different bodies created with different matter in different places and times can have the same structure and functioning of matter.
