Orimateriality experiments
More actions
Orimateriality experiments deal with the question of: How much and how fast can matter be replaced in a human person and still maintain the same consciousness and ixperiencitness? We are not asking the question: How much and how fast can matter be replaced in a human person and still maintain the same person? These are two different questions with different answers and different consequences. The question is not if it is the same person through a transformation, the important question is under what circumstances does my body continue to produce a consciousness that I experience.
If consciousness and ixperiencitness is determined by the structure and functioning of the original then replacing any amount of matter at any speed, if identical structure and functioning is maintained will produce the same consciousness that the original would have experienced other wise. there will be a numerous small changes in the structure and functioning that will still produce the same consciousness.
Can a person be made with any grouping of matter in the right proportions? Since matter is used around the world to make people it seems that any matter can be used to make people in the right proportions. Is there a connection between consciousness and the specific matter used? The matter in your body is different from moment to moment even the bones change material content over time. Matter is not the important factor in having the same ixperiencitness over time. On the other hand there can be a great difference in consciousness with only a little change in matter. You can be asleep to being happy, to sad, to angry, with the same matter in your body.
The same matter can produce many different consciousnesses.
If the matter that is used in one person can be gathered together then feed to another the same matter can be used to produce more than one ixperiencitness.
Potential Orimateriality experiments form an expecontinuum. This is called an Orimateriality expecontinuum. The expecontinuum will contain the actual experiments and the result of the experiments. The results can be in the form of a continuum called a rescontinuum and the results can be itomapped to the experiments themselves. The results can be in terms of the behavior of the experiment that is being studied, and it can contain rationalizations from these results and other knowledge.
A theocontinuum is a predictive continuum based on a theory such as identical structure and functioning produce identical consciousness, close approximate structure and functioning can produce identical consciousness, approximate structure and functioning will produce a different consciousness but the same ixperiencitness. So this theoexpecontinuum predicts that the matter can be replaced with any other matter of the same kind producing the same structure and functioning at any replacement speed including instantly. If all the matter in a person is replaced by the matter that continues the same structure and functioning instantly it will be a different person but it will have the same consciousness and ixperiencitness this is what is important.
A theocontinuum based on the concept of a "person" as a material body will have a problem because instant replacement of a person with different matter makes it a different person. How much matter can be replaced before we have a different person and how fast can it be replaced?
