Religions theories of afterlives

From Aware Theory

Many religions propose that we can experience consciousness after death. This belief is based on the concept of a soul that exists and can be disconnected from the body usually at death that some how continues at least part of the self into another world or another body. Unfortunately, there is no evidence that such a thing exists and if it does there is no way to understand or control it because it can not be found or studied. Religious theories of after lives are very restrictive in what they can experience. For example, some religions believe in places like heaven or hell where there are severe restrictions of what can be consciously experienced. Neither or hell are supposed to be like lives on earth. Some religions believe that an after life is going to be a nice version of lives on earth with loved one gathered together you forever. Superimmortality predict that any possible set of external circumstances can be applied to your nervous system at any point in you life and until too much change occurs in your nervous system you will experience the resulting consciousness produced by the body. Because of this you can have many totally different lives with different loves ones in them. For the many different versions of you to go to heaven there will be different loved ones that can not exist together( they can have many different loved ones themselves). So there will have to be many different versions of you in heaven and hell. Most religious theories only predict that there is one version of you in this reality and only one version of you in any possible after life as well.

Consciousness is a continuum concept as is ixperiencitness. Whether you experience an awarepath is not a clear cut situation this is because physapaths are a continuum concept. You can partially experience a consciousness.
