One aspect of the simiprocess is taking any original and reducing the conscious producing part of the system. In the case of the brain, removing neurons or other parts of the brain and then seeing what conscious that is being produced.
The other aspect of the simiprocess is trying to establish rules for producing and understanding simiawarepaths that are identical within complete but somewhat different awarepaths. For example, how many neurons can we remove from the brain if any and still have the consciousness of blue being produced, or is blue a complex concept that can not be simplified in this way? In which ways can we have identity of parts of consciousness with in a consciousness.
