Spectrum like concept

From Aware Theory
(Redirected from Spectrum concept)

A Spectrum like concept is a type of continuum like concept that can have periods of rapid change and then periods of slow change in any kind of sequence. Like in a color spectrum of light there is slow change in the middle of a color region but relatively fast change at the transition regions between colors. This is not because there is a real distinction in the rate of change of frequencies of light in the range of color spectrum but because of the ways the eyes perceive the colors. This is likely because of the three types of cone cells in the eyes detecting three different colors and then the way the brain interprets this information from the cone cells. The concept of the continuum is based on the real number line that can always be divided into smaller and smaller pieces. And a real number can be assigned to each point on the number line. In the case of the real number line there is continuous change from one number to the next which means that no matter how close two number are that are not equal there are a real infinite amount of real numbers in between.

Light can come in (almost) any frequency thus it forms a singular continuum where the variable is the wavelength of the photon
The ixperiencitness concept is like the color spectrum where there is a continuum of change but the change can be slow at certain sections and very rapid at others
