Superimmortality and suffering argument
More actions
Nature makes it so that the body can stand only so much suffering before it dies. It seems that you have to have a healthy body to experience the most extreme pain. Pain is based on the nerves and brain functioning properly to create pain and suffering to the extreme. Frequently, when pain is overwhelming the body goes into shock where it no longer experiences pain, or at least it is experienced at a reduced intensity. Death is a way out of experiencing pain and suffering a form of nature's compassion. If death if final, it seems like nature is playing a cruel game for those who would rather live than be dead. But nature is really not playing a cruel game on conscious beings if they can consciously exist again and have some influence on what they will experience in the future in other bodies. Superimmortality predicts, with supporting evidence from many different scientific and philosophical arguments that it not the body but the structure and functioning of the body that produces a consciousness that you will experience. Where the body dies the structure and functioning of matter in a body just changes. Change the structure and functioning of matter in a body to a structure and functioning of matter that produced or would have produced a consciousness that you did or would have experienced again and you will consciously exist again. You are not tied to a body but to many different structures and functionings of matter. Many of these structures and functionings of matter (physapaths) will produce awarepaths that contain pain, suffering, and fear. This is where superimmortality becomes more than just a theory of immortality. The many different versions of you can be aware of these physapaths and they can make efforts to reduce the amount of suffering that occurs by eliminating useless pain and suffering that certain physasections produce. If gods, that do not have the same ixperiencitness as you, are in change of the amount of suffering that you experience, they are not likely to care as much as conscious versions of you care about your suffering. Think about it for a moment, If you are in severe pain or remember this kind of pain, would you work toward not experiencing it again? Nature created fear, pain, and suffering to help conscious beings survive reproduce, and have empathy for others. Nature without complex science techniques does not tell us who might have the same ixperiencitness as you do. But logical arguments tell us that the ixperiencitness concept is a continuum concept. So two different physapaths can produce ixperiencitnesses that are partially alike. Thus it is worth while to try to reduce many more conscious being suffering than just the ones that have exactly the same ixperiencitness as your current body is presently producing.
You are not alone in your pain and suffering Because you are much more than just what you are at this moment.
