A maintained itofazpath is an itofazpath that is a continuation of the same level of complexity for each faztype and itotype. So consciousness, ixperiencitness, structure and functioning and knowledge about these faztopics are not enhanced or degraded. During at least part of most peoples lives there are periods that have relatively constant levels of consciousness and structure and functioning. Early in life there is enhancement and later in life as the body gets old enough there is often a degradation. Besides normal random environmental conditions there can be a deliberate effort by other conscious beings to modify an itobody's faztype. For instance, the goal might be not to enhance but to keep a consciousness at a specific level or maintained. So in this case degrading injuries are repaired and enhancements are held to a minium.
