Talking about an atheist that believes in life after death
Matt says at :55
It is probably not the best term to describe who you are and what you do and don't believe because its usage is so often tied to rational atheism which would be an rejection of supernatural claims.
Superimmortality is not a supernatural theory of life after death. it contains no souls, gods, hell, heavens, reincarnation, etc. In fact, the science of superimmortality shows how a belief in mortalism requires a belief in a supernatural concept.

My position is pretty much that the only time you should believe something is when you have sufficient evidence to justify that belief.
There is sufficient evidence to justify a belief in superimmortality.

There is a questionable area there of: When do you stop being you?
We need a good definition of what it means to be you. Possible definitions are the same soul, the same consciousness, the same body, the same personality, the same behavior, the same knowledge, and or the same self identity. Each of these has a major problem. They do not guarantee that you will be the one experiencing the consciousness that is connected to the body, soul, personality, behavior, knowledge or self identity. If there is a consciousness produced by my body with the same knowledge, personality, behavior, and self identity but I do not experience this consciousness then it is not me. For a consciousness to be mine I have to experience it. I am experiencing a consciousness right now while writing this sentence. Superimmortality states: You stop being you when you stop experiencing a consciousness. You start being you when you start experiencing a consciousness. The "you" is defined by the consciousnesses that you have, are, will, and can experience.
