Skepticism and Awaretheory
Awaretheory proposes many different kinds of extraordinary scientific claims about consciousness and ixperiencitness.
Do we believe what we see, or see what we believe?
We believe many things that there is very little evidence for
Extraordinary claims demand extraordinary evidence. The belief that identical structure and functioning does not produce identical consciousness and ixperiencitness is based on an extraordinary claim. Identical structure and functioning of a body by definition will have identical behavior. Identical behavior gives the first evidence that identical structure and functioning is producing identical consciousness. The self reporting of the consciousness that a person is experiencing by way of a person's behavior is one way to see into the consciousness of a person.
The world are full of statements that are at best only partially true. In this case it is true for geniuses that like green best. And it is true because the words green, geniuses, and geeks all start with the same letter that makes for a supernatural connection between the three words. Really?
There is much evidence to show that the functioning of the brain produces the mind or consciousness
If the first copy of a material object has certain properties then an exact functioning object with the exact same structure will have the same properties as well. If not then the proposer of this would have to prove that this is not the case. He would not only have to have the empirical evidence of different properties, he would have to have a reason for these differences.
There are many ways that we can be fooled into believing things that are not true
The same sort of way as the gods came into existence from nothingness
Conscious beings believe things because their brain happen to function at the time in such ways that they see the truth in some statement or idea. Whereas later as their brain change so does their beliefs.
Near death experiences apparently exist but they are not after brain death experiences, they are experiences produced by brain functioning not by a soul or other supernatural entity.
Be skeptical!
Awaretheory does not predict that near death experiences proves that there is life after death. Awaretheory states that near death experiences are just experiences that the brain can produce while still functioning. When there is no longer the right kind of functioning in the brain there is no more consciousness or ixperiencitness produced. But if you restore or create the right kind of structure and functioning in an itobody again there will be a consciousness produced that has an ixperiencitness.
