Why superimmortality is good for religions
More actions
It might seem strange that superimmortality can be good for religions when there is no need for religions when we have superimmortality created life after death and rational morality.
What really is a religion? It is a belief system and a way of life. The potential for religious based or centered consciousnesses existed before there were ever any religious consciousnesses. It seems that there can be an endless amount of supernatural based belief system that people can believe in and center their consciousnesses around. Superimmortality is not about eliminating different conscious view points but improving them. A religious life can be a life made worse for no good reasons except because of bad religious rules. It is likely that within a religious belief system and society there can be reasonable good lives thus consciousness produced. This produces consciousnesses with unique perspectives on reality. The problem with most religious is their limited ability to modify themselves in the face of changing circumstances and the rejection of any other view point that is different from their dogma. Superimmortality gives conscious beings the ability to create religious consciousness without one religious belief system becoming dominate over the others as religions often want to do. The science of superimmortality also gives conscious beings the ability to improve religious consciousnesses that have existed in the past.
